THe Monday Herd | Cottage re-vamp

We are making some serious headway, especially since I don’t think any of us anticipation the amount of work that was going to be involved.

The cottage is going to look boss when we finished.

So with just two days of work we:

-Finished insulation

-Finished hanging all the drywall

-Taped all the seams.   One skim coat to go

- Hung slider door

-Replaced side door

-Sided new wall on cottage

-Replaced fire ring

-Finished the fence

-Stained three doors

-Sanded entire load-bearing beam

-Ran a bunch of wiring

- Installed new water heater

I am sure I am missing a few things, but we cranked out a serious amount of work

On with the pictures!

Because of this kuwaiti oil field fire . . .

We had to pull it apart and re-build it

Brand-spanking new slider door and sanded down beam.  This beam had some old finish on it as well as a bunch of paint splattered all over it.  It was originally boxed in with much darker wood.  Next time we are up, we’ll probably be putting a nice clear urethane on it.  It’s going to look boss!

Ok, so a quick before and after.  The next two images are from the last weekend we were up.

The following two are from this past weekend.  HUGE improvement!

Hey Ty, I am so impressed – I got one of my kitties from POA; Hey, your grandmother has a tatoo & a dog – what’s the chances of her making the site?!! I also like the “manfire” – only you guys! When you all do my place (hopefully soon), I believe the work will not entail any 911 calls! Love ya, Lynelle

The Monday Herd | All Inked up

I’ve been working diligently at my personal project, Dogs Ink mainly because I absolutely love dogs, but also because I have a fascination with tattoos.

The infinite potential for permanent personal expression is remarkable.

This past weekend my brother and I went and got our own ink done.

I couldn’t be more happy.

A Big shout out to Josh at Redemption Tattoo in Cambridge, Ma.

The only thing that could have made it better would have been if I had my camera with me.  It was with Canon being cleaned.  Bummer.

Have a Rad Monday!!

Are those first photos naturally lit? They’re amazing images!

Ty - April 19, 2012 - 12:13 pm

Thanks Liz! They sure are, the first one has a big door open to the left and the 2nd, 3rd 4th have a big ‘ol dirty window off to the right. Which is why you can see so much dust floating around in the second image!
