THe Monday Herd | Variety is the spice of life

Same Herd look

Different blog feel

First things first, sorry for the severe brevity as of late; free time is scarce.  I’ve been wanting to mix things up here a bit so this is a start, I suppose.  I image there might be some more changes to come.

Check out Grace Potter and The Nocturnals:   I saw them live last Wednesday and they were awesome.  They opened up for My Morning Jacket.  Have an awesome Monday!

Give a dog a home | CT Humane Society

Samantha is a repeat on the blog(which isn’t good for ‘give a dog a home’).  I couldn’t resist not taking more pictures, she literally is the biggest sweetheart ever.  I spent 20 minutes just giving her ‘rubbies’ and she loved ever minute of it.  If we didn’t have a herd already, Samantha would have come home with me.

Be a hero.  Adopt.

Bello wanted to sneak in before the dogs and let you know that cats need homes too.

Who could resist a face like Wilbur’s???

THe monday herd | The Dogfather

The Godfather, The Head Hancho, Mr. Big Cheese.  The Patriarch.

Every rescue I imagine had it rough in the first few years of their lives.  They experience things a lot of us wish they never had too.  But it makes them who they are.  Jake came to us with patchy hair, a broken tooth(from gang fights at the track I imagine), teeth worn down from chewing on the chain fence and a hunger for affection.

He now proudly sits on top of the herd hierarchy.

Five things you may or may not know about Jake.

  • Jake’s real, well full name is Jake The Snake.
  • He was rescued from Wonderland.  Despite the name it’s not wonderful and it’s now closed thanks to Massachusetts law.
  • Jake’s tail does not wag side to side, it goes in a circle like a helicopter.
  • He loves carrots
  • Stairs were alien to Jake when he came to our house.  He still is not positive on their purpose or how to go down them
